Sealing Film and Topseal Film

Sealing film and topseal film are used for machine sealing compatible food containers, meal trays and packaging trays. This category contains different types of film for packaging made from materials including PP, PET, XPS, sugarcane, palm leaf and cardboard, as well as films for specific systems such as Enterpack and Klappack.

The correct film is determined by the combination of packaging material, sealing rim, film and sealing machine. A matching roll width therefore does not automatically mean that a film is suitable for every tray. Always check the product specifications and compatibility with the packaging and machine being used.

PE Sealing Film for Different Tray Materials

The Papstar PE sealing films in this category consist of 15 µm OPA and 50 µm PE. These films are suitable for compatible trays made from sugarcane, PLA-coated sugarcane, palm leaf, cardboard, XPS and PP. Different roll widths and lengths are available to match different sealing machines.

A PE/PA sealing film is also available for compatible XPS and sugarcane topseal trays.

Aluminium Topseal Film

The aluminium topseal film is suitable for compatible trays made from PLA-coated sugarcane, cardboard, XPS and PP. For uncoated sugarcane and palm leaf trays, a suitable PE sealing film should be used instead.

PP, PET and Multipeel Film

Different sealing films are available for PP and PET packaging. This includes a clear PP Multipeel topseal film suitable for MAP applications and compatible PP and PET packaging. The multipeel design allows the film to be peeled away from the sealing rim after sealing.

Enterpack Topseal Film

Different film types are available for the Enterpack sealing system. These include peelable film for compatible PP trays and Non-Peel / Lock Seal film for applications where a fixed seal is required. One of the Non-Peel versions also features anti-fog properties to help reduce condensation on the inside of the clear film.

Enterpack film must be combined with suitable Enterpack machines, tooling and trays. Different Enterpack films are not automatically interchangeable.

Klappack Film

Klappack film is intended for a different packaging system than conventional topseal film. The PP film is processed using a suitable Klappack packaging machine and is used for products such as sliced meats, cheese and other flat fresh foods.

Do not select sealing film based on roll width alone. Check the specified packaging materials and systems for each product and compare these details with the technical specifications of the sealing machine being used.
